Well the count down has offically begun... there are 11 days until I get to come home for Christmas break. Even though I dont get to stay too long I am soooo excited. I am ready for some American food and familiar faces. I cannot wait to seem my little brother. My mom tells me so many funny stories about him that i cannot wait to see him in person. Example: My mom and brother (2 years old) were having a converstation and it went a little like this:

Corey: Momma you are a girl
Mom: Yeah Corey Mommies are normally girls.
Corey: Your my mommy
Mom: Yeah Corey I am your mommy. Corey you are a boy.
Corey: No Momma I am not a boy, I am a Power Ranger!

Man little kids are great! They can be a hand full, but they are such good therapy!!! He makes things worth doing everyday! If you asked me 3 years ago if I thought that I would ever have a sibling I would tell you HECK NO! Now I cannot imagine my life with out the little guy!!! He is great.

I have had a different 1st year over here and the 1st half of it has been a little crazy. Things started off great and I thought that this team was going to be different! I thought that the girls were great! It almost felt like a college team again. We are really close and we work hard and love to play! The team has had some distractions: coach getting fired, player marrying the vice president of the team, and injuries. We have not done as well as I would like or expected, but I am optimistic! I am just going to keep working and get better.

I think that I am going to start studying for the LSAT while I am over here the second half of the season. I am thinking about what I want to do after basketball is over. I have wanted to be a lawyer since I was little. So I believe I want to get into real estate law! Maybe I can work with the Coach Landers and the team and go to law school at the same time or with one of my old coaches at their school!

I have spent so much time reading here that I might as well be spend that time reading something that can further educate me. I have read 6 books and studied Italian occasionally since I have been here.
Books: The Broker and Skipping Christmas, John Grisham; In Sheep's Clothing, Mary Monroe, At First Sight, Nicholas Sparks; Angels and ; Demons, Dan Brown; Milk in My Coffee, Eric Jerome Dickey, and started Those Bones Are Not My Child, Toni Cande Bambara (cant get into it).

On top of all this I have experienced a little night life here in Italy. It was a fun night! I went to a club called Seven with some of the girls and some of the guys from our men's team. They were fun. The music sucked but it was nice to get out. I saw my first American guy in 3 1/2 months, but of course that doesnt really matter. It was just nice to speak good english with someone, but I am ready to get back home to Arnold. One of the guys on the team here has a crush on me i am told, but her cannot speak very good english, so it is not like he can talk to me...lol! Plus he is not my type, he is not Arnold. He is nice though! Well, as much as I can tell from our very little converstation.

Well I guess that is about it for now. I am sure I will update before I go home and when I get back I will have a lot to talk about!! After the season is over Arnold is coming over here so that will be something else I have to look forward to!!!! YAY!

Remember 11 days............

Dec. 3rd, 2005 02:29 pm Long Time

Well it has been some time since I have updated the world on what is going on in Italy. I was a little down because this was my first time away from the family on Thanksgiving. My little brother made my folks cry when he asked if I was gonna be at my Grandmother's house. My Itlaian teammates are wonderful though, they had an Italian Thanksgiving here for us! It wasn't exactly like home, but it was wonderful. We had a ton of food, we even had cornbread and dressing. So Thanksgiving wasn't that bad considering!

Well I have about 19 days until I come home for a week!! I am excited to see everyone during the Christmas holiday!! The time is short, but I am happy to get that! I am looking forward to babysitting the little brother and spending some time with the love of my life! It is going to be a fun Christmas this year with Corey... he is so smart and so big for a 2 year old. We are going to have so many toys to play with....YAY!!!

Our coach here got fired after we lost to Como. He was a really nice guy, I just don't think he had what it took as far as offensive schemes. I didnt quite understand his way of doing things, but guess it doesn't matter now. I really am sad that he had to leave, but I have learned that this is a business and that kind of thing happens. I have been through 4 coaches in two years with two different teams, so I am getting used to it.

The expansion draft was the other day and one of my Italian teammates (chicca) from LA got picked by Chicago. I really don't want her to leave, but like I said that is the business. I think that this year in LA is going to be interesting. I believe that our team is going to be very different next year. I am anxious to see what is going to happen with the players and the coaching situation. LA picked up the option for my fourth year so I will be in LA until 2007. That is good because I really like the city. I am excited about going back this year. I am going to have much of my life in order when I get back to the States this spring.

I have been thinking of buying a house, but don't know if it is the right thing for me to do right now. With a wedding, playing all over the world and wanting to be with Arnold more than without him, things are kind of up in the air right now. Both of us want a house, but our place of residence changes so much we are not sure when and where we should buy the house. Well I guess that it wont hurt to wait until both of us are in the same country before we decided what to do! Well I guess that is about all! Hopefully the next time I update the team will be doing better and I will be gettin closer to going home for a little while. I can't wait, and then Arnold is going to come stay here with me for a little while after his season is over. It is going to be great!!!

Ok, just a quick question... I have debated this with many people!!! Even male friends... Why do guys feel the need to cheat?? I know that females do dirt too, but I don't understand men. They say they love their "main girl" (another thing I don't understand) and want to be with her, but feel the need to be with other females. I also don't understand the females that deal with them knowing that there is a woman that will always be #1 and they will never have the privileges that the "main girl" has. I would not even waste my time with a fella like that, and that is exactly what they are doing, wasting time!

Someone please shed some light on men and the OTHER females that deal with them!!!

Well, I am back!! I had a busy week this week! I have had a dinner to go to two nights this week and I went to Rome on Monday and got back late. ROME WAS GREAT... It is about 4 hours by train from where I live in Italy. So i had my first train experience as well! We spent the majority of the day there. We got there about 10am and then went to Vatican City. I got to see St. Peter's Square, Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel, Piazza di Spagna, and the Colosseum. Rome is such a huge city! There is no possible way that you could do the whole city in one day. There is still so much that I would like to see in that city, but my first visit was great. It was a beautiful day and the experience was great. THe Sistine Chapel is beautiful!!! I could not believe that I was actually in Rome seeing all of this stuff that I have read about and seen on TV. It was almost like a dream. I have been so blessed to be able to take advantage of the opportunities that God has put in front of me! I am thankful for all of it! Wed. we went to celebrate two of the girls' birthdays and then last night we had a dinner to go to with the people from the gym that we play in. All in all it has been a good week.

On an a different note...I finished Angels and Demons before I went to Rome so that enhanced the Rome experience. I just finished the new Nicholas Sparks book AT FIRST SIGHT and I started the John Grisham book SKIPPING CHRISTMAS.

Well i guess that is about all for right now. We play on Sunday and I pray that we win and play better so that the Society will ease up a little. We had a meeting with them the other day after practice. Of course I don't really understand all that is going on, but like any management, when you lose a game or two they start trippin'! This season is so long... they should just leave us alone, let us gel and we will get things together! Alright, enough rambling...Later
